From Infertility to Adoption: the Journey to Becoming Parents
Location: Conference Room 1 -- Hermosa
Join adoptive parents Cindy Chupack (Emmy-winning TV writer/producer and author) and her husband Ian Wallach (Criminal Defense and Constitutional Rights Attorney and Legal Commentator) for a discussion on their journey from infertility to adoption. If you have struggled with infertility and wondered…
- How do I know when it’s time to let go of trying to conceive?
- How do I know if adoption is right for me?
- What are the pros and cons of domestic adoption?
- How do I really feel about the prospect of open adoption?
- Can I love an adopted child as much as I would one born to me?
… then this workshop is for you.
Cindy and Ian will share their personal evolution in a way that is poignant, funny, insightful and honest. Cindy has written about their baby quest in her new comic memoir, “The Longest Date: Life as a Wife,” and the book includes an essay by Ian that first appeared in O, The Oprah Magazine called “A Father’s Story: Mourning the Baby We Never Had.” Cindy Chupack is best known as an Emmy-winning TV writer/producer whose credits include Modern Family, Sex and the City, and Everybody Loves Raymond. Author of New York Times bestseller “The Between Boyfriends Book,” her new comic memoir about marriage “The Longest Date: Life as a Wife” (released by Viking in January 2014) includes an honest, sometimes heartbreaking, ultimately hopeful story of what she and her husband, Ian Wallach, experienced during their baby quest. Ian Wallach is a lawyer and founding partner of Feldman & Wallach, a boutique criminal defense and civll litigation law firm based in Venice, California. He is a legal news commentator who has appeared on regional, national, and international television and radio shows speaking on current legal issues.
